Dylan's Brown Ale

Dylan (a.k.a. The Rook) is rapidly approaching her first birthday, and in preparations for the celebration we brewed a partial-mash brown ale.

Modeled after Smuttynose's Old Brown Dog Ale, the grain bill is as follows:

1# ESB Malt
0.5# Brown Malt
0.5# Toasted American 2-Row
0.5# Crystal 90
0.25# Chocolate

The grains were steeped at 164F for 60 minutes, then sparged with 165F water.

Boil included 1 oz Willamette hop pellets (4.9%) for 60 minutes.

Yeast: Wyeast Activator 1098 (London Ale Yeast)

In other TB developments, "The Boomers" are now official! In a grand celebration that included all members of TB (including Big Brother - formerly the Rook - a.k.a. John Beck), Brian and Jenna were wed and the TB family is going strong!!
