Mayhem Pilsner?

I feel like all of our lives are in complete mayhem. Maybe I am just projecting. And mayhem can be a good thing. Boomer seems to be up to his nose hair in his PhD and weekend obligations. Rook is not only directing operations at ArtsBoston but his band, Emergency Music (they fuckin' rock), is practicing more than a mastabatory teenager. As our lives ebb and flow between the sublime and the ridiculous, we always have Thunder Boomer to come back to. An antidote to the mayhem.
And this goes along with the theme of Remfest V, which is what we are brewing for currently. An antidote to mayhem.

Hence, perhaps, as suggested by Boomer last night, we should always have the simple ingredients to make this pilsner when life gets too complicated. I am all for it. Here is the recipe conducted almost entirely by Boomer last night while I raced around after Ponder (official dog of TB).

.5 lb of Crystal 20L
.5 lb of Crystal 40L
Steep and kinda partially mashed.

Added 2 cans of Pilsner malt extract

.5 oz of Saaz at 60"
1.5 oz Saaz at 15"

Pitched American Yeast when cooled to 70 degrees.

Original reading 1.040??? (Boomer can you clarify)

Over and out,
Thunder

Dice-Kirin Tasting

It has been a frightfully long time since the last post to the site. It's embarrassing really, however, let me take a minute to catch up on life for the loyal drinkers of TB.

The Rook is cruising along nicely as Director of Operations and playing more shows as Emergency Music prepares for an album release in later summer/early fall.

Thunder has just purchased and moved into a lovely new home in JP. This will be referred to as the "Thunder Dome" from this point forward. Thunder is also a proud owner of a new puppy, Ponder, and is living the American dream.

Boomer is struggling to keep up with life. However, amidst the stress-induced haze he finds time to relax with a TB - coming back to earth, if only for a minute, to enjoy one of life's finer things.

Which brings us to the Dice-Kirin. On Friday evening, the Rook and Boomer gathered, albeit briefly, for a tasting of the Japanese-inspired ale. In the true spirit of the Japanese, this beer was a "GO!" Quite light, with a great refreshing quality, Dice-K is a simply crafted beer with a touch of bitterness from the hops added in the early stages. This will be a hit beer with TB fans and perfect addition to the warm, humid days of spring.

Love live TB.
